This piece was custom made for a loft in a former tobacco building in Downtown Durham for a space with a very unusual 60 degree corner. The building’s outer walls were built to match the city street angles.
This is the fourth in a series of benches made from curb – picked chairs. Of the other three, one resides in Durham, another in Cary, and the third is at The Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw.
Made for the Eno River Association’s 50th gala and auction. This 54″ rustic bench is made from a tongue and groove heart pine plank that was part of the fireplace surround in the farm house at Confluence.
This sweet storage bench was custom made for Jesus and Clara of Durham NC. It features a 13″ wide tongue and groove heart pine plank for the seat and 12″ 100 year old southern yellow pine face and back.
The piece is made on a salvaged wooden spool end with the tongued edges from reclaimed 1920s heart pine flooring creating a textured field with the beautiful butterscotch/ caramel heart pine coloring.
