Antique weathered NC barn wood on salvaged wooden spool ends, wrapped with found metal bands.
The pieces are cut and arranged using Fibonacci’s sequence as a guide.This was a batch of two rounds. One of them now resides in Raleigh with Glenn Rupert of The Rupert Group.
Salvage:
- Barnwood from The confluence, Efland, NC, thanks to the Eno River Association. Other barn wood from the Finley Barn, Cedar Grove, NC, thanks to Steve Finley, and from the Butner Farm in Burnsville, NC, in Appalachia, and from a demolished railroad building in Efland where I picked through the ruins.
- The metal bands are salvaged 1970’s mobile home hurricane straps off my property in Efland, NC.
