This 54″ rustic bench is made from a tongue and groove heart pine plank that was part of the fireplace surround in the farm house at Confluence.
Confluence is a 100 acre former farmstead that was purchased by the Eno River Association.
The old farmhouse had back to back fireplaces with a shared chimney. The surrounds were made of this beautiful dense grained pine which was probably milled from wood that was cut on site based on some of the other wood I salvaged here- oak barn flooring, poplar siding, cherry beadboard, and more. The planks are unusual dimensions. This one is 13″ wide.
The legs are cut from 12″ antique yellow pine from a building in Efland and the face trim and braces are also vintage reclaimed pine.
