A batch of my popular railroad spike birds made in November 2015.  I have been making these birds since 2013, a happy accidental creation springing from a juxtaposition of wing shaped wood cutouts which were a by product of bookcases I was building, and an abundance of found railroad spikes in my shop. This is one of my favorite items to make, and I have had many customers buy them singly or in flocks of 3 or five for wall hanging.

I cut all of these free hand with the jigsaw, no template, so all are unique and one of a kind.

This batch includes gray barn wood, gold and dark brown speckled pine flooring from the 1930’s, a920’s pine bead board with lovely vintage  green, and a few others.
